Raised in the inner city community, Coombs Lane, of Montego Bay Jamaica, Troy Manderson (DJ Troy) grew knowing hard work and poverty as being the daily norm.

The sound system, music, dancing and singing prevailed way into the wee hour, from Sunday to Saturday. As a result of such exposure in his tender years he was drawn to music. His natural gift of combining words to rhythm to create songs over time developed as his desire for music grew stronger.

“Music has always been my life, just performing is ability, but ministry is giving your ability to be used by the Most High . . . . It is my hope that God use me to raise up a new generation of ‘WORLD CHANGERS’ who will impact and change their environment and the world”, says DJ Troy. The DJ responded to the tug on his heart by the Lord to use this gift of singing and DJ. His ministry began with the forming of the group called CD Crew (Christ Disciples). At this point he was ministering at various churches in and around Montego Bay. In 2004, however, his ministry elevated as he was invited to minister on the show ‘Gospel on The Beach’. This led to his ministering alongside music ministers in Montego Bay all of whom when put together formed the group ‘New Generation’.

Once again the DJ’s ministry took another change. In 2009, DJ Troy was prompted by the Holy Spirit to ‘enlarge his territory’. He later departed N.G. and went further into ministry as a solo artiste. This also led to him focusing more on the vision given to him by God to establish a record label. More Life Records was the God inspired name given to the DJ for the label in 2006, which would later contribute to his desire to represent Christ in every way possible.

DJ Troy has been blessed to have travelled across Jamaica ministering on many major gospel events. These include, ‘Fun In The Son’, ’ Best Dressed-50 Fest’, ‘Recharge’, ‘Genesis’, ‘Gospel on The Beach’ etc. He has also been honoured to have shared stage with the likes of ‘Kirk Franklyn’, ‘Israel Haughton’, ‘Papa San’, ‘Prodigal Son’, ‘DJ Nicholas’, ‘Ryan Mark’, ‘Goddy Goddy’ and many more.

DJ Troy’s vision is to reach the youths of his community, Jamaica and the world through the God given privilege to sing. This he intends to accomplish by representing Christ in music, his greatest passion.

DJ Troy is a perfect example to show the world that our circumstances, inabilities, background and age are not limitation to God and how He uses us all to do a mighty work. “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” [1Tim 4:12]

As he continues his ministry DJ Troy keeps focused on the reason for the song, and as he always says “IT’S ALL ABOUT KING JESUS’.
