GOD, YOU ARE MY PROBLEM! E-mail
Written by Khimani A. Williams

What do you do when you have done all you can, still trials and adversities plague you from every side? You fast and pray. You sing spiritual songs. You love your friend and enemy with the love of Christ. You do for others what you would like to be done for you. But still your situation fails to improve - or it just worsens - and you just don't know what to do or what you have done. What do you say when God is your problem!

We are living in a world of questions. Questions are asked always in thought, in deed and in speech. Everything is questioned: intent, content, context, manifestation, everything. You have questions and I have questions. I have questions of you, you have questions of me, both of us have questions of the next guy, and he has questions of us. We even question our very selves. We seek to know why another would do us evil or good, why were they truthful or deceptive, why we did what we did. Questions, Questions!

Love Lifted Me! E-mail

This one goes out to my Lord, my God, my forever-reliable Friend. Has been true and faithful to this end; if it is His will He will do it again. Grace like rain He sends, He inspires the mind, stills the heart and guides the pen. Strengthens when we are faint, reassures that it is all by faith, bringing glory to His own name. When I am surrounded by doubt and insecurity, unsure of what the next move will be, love lifted me.

I know this bares a different tone, but it is special, we have been lifted by the Chief Cornerstone. The One who has Atoned, He has promised, "I am with you always, even unto the end of the world". [St Matthew 28: 20]. It has been four years and some, and all I can say is, "Look what the Lord has done!"

True Religion! E-mail
Written by Khimani A. Williams

Religion has been creating problems for the world for an eon. Like a hot knife cutting butter it has separated families, friends, communities and countries. Even love shared between a couple is threatened when one party changes or finds a new religion. The fact is that religion causes pain, and religion does not allow its hurting, zealous followers to admit to, nor does it allow them to address the pain, in an effort to seek reconciliation. Religion trains the minds of its devotees and guides their actions, dictation exactly how they should live.

Religion seems to be a big problem, so what is it exactly? According to Dictionary.com religion is: “A set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe... a specific fundamental set of beliefs and practices generally agreed upon by a number of persons or sects.” As a follower of Jesus Christ I am a Christian and my religion is...

Repent Or Perish! E-mail
Written by Khimani A. Williams

The term “Turn or Burn” is quite unacceptable by many, ranging from some professing Christians to those who claim they have no belief in a higher power. They see it as  judgmental, and he who say such a thing is a far-off extremist, self-righteous Bible thumper, and that he is ignorant of the fact that God is loving and caring, that He will certainly not punish those whom He loves (that is, on condition that He exists). On the contrary, if God does exist, why should men turn to Him and why will He cause them to burn? But God is faithful and His Word is true.

Jesus was quite clear concerning the fate of sinners and Christians. He has unequivocally, conclusively and exclusively declared Himself to be the Way, the Truth and the Life, and that no man can be reconciled with God the Father except they come through Him. [St. John 14: 6]. There are many religions in our world planting seeds of confusion...

The Jamaica Youth For Christ (JYC) ensured that Cornwall, Middlesex and  Surrey didn’t start the year sorry and dreary as they gave each county an opportunity to kick-start the year in fun and fellowship in Christ. It was the annual Festival, Genesis, and for 2009 the theme is “Your Time To Shine”; From Montego Bay to Kingston to cool, cool Mandeville Jamaicans from all over flocked to the various venues with high expectations.

Kingston and Mandeville went just about as planned, but Montego Bay had its fair share of setbacks, upsets and lockdowns . Yes, Lockdown! While Kevin Downswell was onstage, the proceeding was abruptly interrupted when armed members of St. James Police Division demanded that the event be...
