As a Christian I have to do whatever my Master says, and so to hear what He has to say, I read His Word, the Holy Bible. The Bible consistently states that homosexuality is a sin [Genesis 19: 1- 13; Leviticus 18: 22; Romans 1: 26 ? 27; and I Corinthians 6: 9]. Genesis chapters 1 and 2 tell the story of God?s glorious creation. At the end of each day God would look at His handiwork and declare, ?It is good!? Everything He made was good, including Adam. Adam in himself was lacking, because all other creatures had a mate, except him. So God made Eve out of Adam to be his wife. At the end of it all God said, ?It is good.? Adam was lonely. He needed a partner, a soul mate as it were. So God made a woman to complete him. Therefore, it is not a good thing for same sex to have sexual relations. One argument that many pro-gay debaters brand is that many people are born with homosexual feelings, due to hormone imbalance. But what about others who are born with a greater susceptibility to murder? Does it make it right for them to go and kill at will? Many married and single individuals are tempted to commit adultery, some greater than others, so would God be ?understanding? and not judge? The reality is that Jesus died for us all. To all those who accept His great salvation He promised a gift, the Holy Spirit. We cannot live for God by our own strength, and so that?s why the Spirit of God is given to guide us. Galatians 5:22 ? 23 list the fruit of the Spirit that is given to the believer. Self-control is one of them. We will be tempted, but we have to exercise self-control. Even Jesus Himself was tempted, once for forty days and forty nights. [St. Luke 4: 1 ? 2]. Maybe homosexuals have a greater attraction to the opposite sex, but God still requires holiness, for it is His standard of living. Many countries have embraced homosexuality as normal behaviour, but God?s Word declared in Romans 1: 26 ? 27 that it is an unnatural relationship. Nature has to do with creation; therefore, they weren?t created that way. It?s not natural. And while some country may accept it as natural, others like Jamaica do not, and rightly so. And since it is a sin many feel that it is in their hands to execute judgment. But God is the only One who has the right to judge, for He alone is holy. When the woman caught in adultery was brought to Jesus for Him to condemn her, He simply stated, ?If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to throw a stone at her." [St. John 8: 7]. The only person who would be justified for throwing stones is Jesus, but forgiveness was and is His way. He told her to, ?Go now and leave your life of sin." [St. John 8: 11]. This is God?s command to all sinners, "Go now and leave your life of sin." Sin makes us God?s enemies, but He wants us to "?leave our life of sin." Jesus died for the homosexuals and lesbians, too. They are not excluded from His amazing grace. When it comes to God?s judgment, all sinners are covered under the same umbrella. There is no good sin and bad sin. Sin is sin, and God is not partial. I Corinthians 6: 9 ? 10 states, ?Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.? So we see here that the homosexual will not go to heaven, neither will the thief, drunk or greedy. Again, sin is just that, sin! It?s easy to join in with the majority and do what seems right: To chastise those who are different from us. Many call for them to be killed. But the truth is that we are all the same people; we are all sinners, and Jesus died for us all. We ought to love like Christ and love all men, including gays and homosexuals!
