soul thirst Quencher
Have you ever been thirsty? I mean truly thirsty to the point of dehydration...where it hurts to even swallow your own saliva? I know...Eww...I know :)...but do you remember that thirst? I know there'll be some days when I've gone the whole day and have forgotten to have a glass of water (even though I should be having my 8 glasses...or half my weight in water like some people say...)

All the same...sometimes I don't remember or quite frankly, I cant be bothered to get up from my desk at work to constantly go to the bathroom because of all the water in my system :) but water is essential for life..without it, for extended periods of time, you'll end up sick, dehydrated, weak and faint.

That's natural thirst...it must be quenched...it must be satisfied for the promotion of good health. But what about spiritual thirst?...what about the thirsting of your soul? You know about that thirsting....that empty place...that unsatisfied place..that void...maybe you've tried to satisfy it with many lovers, maybe with alcohol, maybe with narcotics..I don't know what you've used..I know for me, I used to spend my days pouring out my life without measure to try and fill the void in me...the void in the depth of my soul...the void I thought that being somebody's girlfriend or lover could fill...the void I found out that only Jesus could fill! You see, Jesus took me up from a real dirty place...I know my testimony is not one of being delivered from alcoholism and it's not even so much of being delivered from a spirit of sexual immorality (even though that's part of it) as it was of being delivered from low self-esteem...delivered from trying to fill up on worldly, fleeting pleasures...you see, not many of my brothers and sisters in the Lord wanna tell their testimony...the real dirt that God found them in...but to the glory of the Lamb, I confess that I was messed up! I struggled for so long against rejection...I struggled to know that in spite of my physical state..being overweight and maybe not as pretty as the next girl, that God loved me...even though men passed me by or used and misused me, God loved me and wanted to quench the thirsting of my soul.

Jesus told the woman at the well in John 4, that the living water He had to offer her, would give her a soul-thirst quenching...He promised her that if she drank of that living water, who was Himself, that she'd never thirst again...and I promise you that as well my friend...if you drink from that fountain which shall never run dry, you'll never need to fill up on the things that used to satisfy on a temporary basis...sex is only good for the moment...alcohol is only good for the moment...but afterward there is the consequence of the hangover..the nauseated feeling...I promise you, after this drink of living water, there'll be no negative hangover...the results won't be temporary...the fix won't be temporary...but the high lasts forever...Jesus won't fail you, He won' t leave you out in the cold, He won't allow you to get dehydrated, weak or faint! Won't you drink from the fountain today? Won't you accept Him into your heart or recommit your life to Him? He's waiting....He loves you and wants to fill you up...

God bless

Good stuff yori! It's good know that i can come here and read an article for my
devotion whenever i feel like. However, i was very thirsty at one point of my
life, till i tasted the Living Water ... Now, i don't remember what that
thirst feels like. The bible states O taste and see that the lord is good:
blessed is the man that trusts in him. (Psalm 34 vs Now, i interpret that as
a promise that God hath given to us.
For one to really taste that Living Water,
One has to be patience & humble for that purification of the Living Water. God
Bless You, IRON SHARPENETH IRON

God's Word says that we overcome by the Blood of the Lamb and the word of our
testimony. God wants the glory. We should give it to Him by telling of all that
He has done.
Christ fills and fulfills us. He gives purpose! So what if we
don't look like everybody else? So what if we can't speak as well as everyone
else? So what if we aren't perfect? So what if we are human? And that's it - we
are human. To each other we fit in at different heights on the scale, but we are
all the same; we all have the same essence - flesh, soul, spirit. Shallow is the
person who thinks (s)he is better than anyone because of beauty or possessions.
Check this:

"3 A man may have a hundred children and live many years; yet
no matter how long he lives, if he cannot enjoy his prosperity and does not
receive proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he. 4 It
comes without meaning, it departs in darkness, and in darkness its name ...
