CTRL Z! E-mail

If you are on the internet reading this article I guess it is somewhat safe to assume that you are in some way familiar with the computer. As an IT student I unashamedly declare that the computer is a wonderful piece of technology. But one thing which makes using the computer more fun than the usual is the shortcut keys. With knowledge of shortcuts you can use the mouse less and get more done in less time. One such shortcut key is ?CTRL Z? (Control Key + Z Key), which undoes previous editing.

You might be wondering why I am talking about computers and shortcuts, but I just want to focus on the shortcut key CTRL Z (undo). We are all born in a world of sin; let?s say that at birth we were given a clean page, a new document. We begin to edit it and all our lives we made mistakes, messed up!
We did not know about Christ or His great love. Whenever God looked at the pages of our lives He was never pleased. The things He saw hurt Him and made Him angry. But what did He do? He didn?t delete the ?document?, but rather He sought out a way to undo all the mess we created. Sin!

If you are a sinner, believe me, the pages of your life are dirty before God. It doesn?t matter how good you are, we are never good enough to meet God?s requirements of a holy life lived for Him. But there?s hope in Jesus Christ! Through Him God wants to erase the dirt from the pages of your life, undo all the sins that you have committed and freely give as a gift a new beginning and a new, abundant and eternal life. He will give you a clean slate. His promise to you is this: ?Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? Hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.? [Isaiah 55: 1 ? 2].

The Apostle Paul in I Corinthians 6: 9 ? 10 stated, ?Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.? All of us fall under the same banner ? the banner of sin. But the scripture didn?t stop there! In Verse 11 he made it clear that there is hope for us, that God could, through Jesus Christ, undo all our sinful deeds and deposit His Spirit within us as a guide.


Whenever I am using Microsoft Word and I make a mistake while editing I just do a CTRL Z and go at it again. The difference with the sins we commit is that if we try to undo them on our own we will only make it worse. Only God can erase or undo all our wrongs and pardon us. I hope that someone will find hope in Him!

Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren. Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.
