CONDITIONS APPLY! E-mail

Today the paper and electronic media thrive off advertisements. Banks offer great, attractive interest rates and loans. Telecommunication companies seek to ?woo? us with the best deals, from low local rates to free overseas calls. Car dealerships offer low monthly deposits, so that almost anyone can in time have their own car. Companies compete with each other to see who can win the most customers and so they advertise their products, services and experiences in a humorous and seemingly affordable way. But no matter how low the interest rates, how many free calls you might receive, how much money you could save, if you just stick around for the final ? second of the advertisement you?d hear these two words: ?Conditions Apply!?

We live in a world where it is difficult to find people who are willing to be open and honest to others. Businesses are no different. They make great offers, but not to everyone. They come with conditions that at times only a privileged few can meet. But God is not like man, neither is He a man that He should lie. [Numbers 23: 19]. God has made many promises, many attractive offers. He?s no politician so He doesn?t need your donations or vote, only your obedience. And He fulfills all His promises. How? He is God, the All-Powerful One. Nothing is too hard for Him [Jeremiah 32:17].

The Father gave His Son for the world and whoever accepts His gift receives eternal life. [St. John 3: 16]. There are no conditions applied to God?s offer of salvation in regards to age, status or intellect. All God requires is our faith in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ on the cross and His resurrection from the dead to eternal life. There is one word in God?s offer that makes it unconditional and that word is ?Whomsoever?. No passport, visa, drivers license, riches, parental consent is needed, only faith in the finished work of Jesus!

?It is out of the riches of His grace, mercy and love that God gave His Son. And He calls out to everyone: ?Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.? [Isaiah 55: 1]. God is advertising eternal life to the world. He is saying, ?Come with your insecurities and unanswered questions. Come with your secrets, hurt and abuse. Come with all the evil thoughts and bloody hands.? In inviting sinners He said, ?Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.? [St. Matthew 11: 28]. Whoever you are ?whomsoever? includes you, unconditionally!

God promises gladness for mourning, hope for fear and freedom for despair. [Isaiah 61: 3]. In St. John 10: 10 Jesus said that He has come to offer abundant life! He can break the yoke sin has on your life and give peace and freedom. All your addictions He can break them. He is God and nothing is difficult for Him.

When worldly institutions makes an offer, especially really great ones, listen closely to the end or read the fine print. You might realize that you do not qualify to accept such great an offer. But what is at the end of God?s advertisement to the world? Read for yourselves: ?He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." [Revelation 21: 4]. "Behold, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.?[Revelation 22:12]. Today is the day of salvation. Accept Christ now.

"Lord," Martha said to Jesus, "if you had been here, my brother would not have died. But I know that even now God will give you whatever you ask." Jesus said to her, "Your brother will rise again." Martha answered, "I know he will rise again in the resurrection at the last day." Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?" "Yes, Lord," she told him, "I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world."

St. John 11: 21 ? 27
