2ndc~Second
Chance also known as Ewart Alexander Blake, born in 1971 in Clarendon,
Jamaica. He fell in love with music at the age of 5, which continued
through high school: while participating part in talent shows, church
choirs, and local concerts.
Ewart then migrated to the USA in
1989, and found his home at the Berean Church of God in Ft. Lauderdale,
under the leadership of Bishop Joseph Fagan. 2ndc~Second Chance did not
forget or loose his love for music and worshipping God, so he continued
to particpate in local church groups, which sang in the community and
in local area churches. He produced his first album "Mission Fi God"
in 1998 as part of the group called The Blake Band. The sophomore album "Hold On" which was released in 2004 brought him to perform on stage
with the likes of Marvia Providence, Shirley Willis (Grace
Thrillers), Wendy Mithchell, Papa San, Junior Tucker, Stitchie,
Prodigal (aka Blessed), DJ Nicholas, Nigel Lewis, Alvin Slaughter,
Claudell Clark, Hopeton Lewis, Shelly Thunder, Yankee B, Jhoy, Winjey
Danejah, Carlington Roberts (Soar), Dwain Walters, just to name a few.
"Hold On" the sophomore album also won the Hopeton Lewis award for
Best New Male Caribbean/ Amercian Award. He has also perfomed
internationally including Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Jamaica, Canada, and
around the U S.
Ewart `2ndc~Second Chance` Blake now
accredits the experiences in his life and how God has cause him to
mature through those storms as the reason for him now being able to
write songs on a deeper level.
Jan 15 2007 Chance linked up with
Dr. Dizzle (aka Dale Virgo) who is a young accomplished producer.
Chance had the words, Dizzle had the beats. Put those 2 ingredients
together and now you have 2ndc's third album "Walk Gud". 2ndc is
currently living in Florida with his wife of 11years and three girls.
