I have oftentimes wondered why do men really go
overboard, becoming involved in trickery and injustice in order to gain
financially. Do not think that I am naive to ask such things, I am just
looking for a sound reason for it - maybe something that would justify.
No matter from which angle I try to wrap my mind around it, Jesus’
warning rings out in my heart and mind: “For what is a man
profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or
what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?” [St. Matthew 16: 28].
Many are convinced that riches will make them complete,
others are always asking for a ‘little more’ in order to arrive at a
comfort level. While money can be used to solve a world of problems, it
has no cure for those who are infected with greed and covetousness.
Greed doesn’t in itself present a...

What would you be doing the very moment Jesus puts in
His appearance? Working? Shopping? Relaxing? You can’t tell, right?
That’s because no one can tell exactly when Jesus is coming back to
this earth. Like a thief He will come, descending from on high at the
shout of the angel. This one day will not only be the end to a month,
but also a year. The day Jesus returns will be the end to the pattern
of this world, making all things new.
But many are not so concerned with the second coming of
Jesus Christ. They are preoccupied with the pleasures and pressures of
this world. Instead of giving God thanks for his bounteous blessings,
many become proud and revel without thanksgiving, indulging in all sorts...

In an electrifying worship session
the University of Technology (UTech) UCCF Praise team started what was
to be an awe-inspiring, tears-filled night of blessings, honour and
praises to Almighty God. The free concert, held on Friday October 24,
2008 had people streaming into the UTech auditorium to join Perpetual
Praise, True Worshippers and Chosen Vessel in putting their all in the
adoration of God.
Following the lively start by the UTECH UCCF the combined group of
Chosen Vessel and True Worshippers took the stage, led by the renowned
pair of Nadine Blair and Jody McCalla. This really got things started.
They had people dancing, shouting and pouring out their souls in songs
like, “Let it rise” by Michael W. Smith, “Let your Latter Rain Fall” by Johnny Clarke and...

It was almost like the clash of the Titans as the finals
of Love 101 fm’s Fellowship Fridayz Bible Quiz Competition got on its
way on Friday October 31 in the Expression Room at the Medallion Hall
Hotel. The results were favored to Bethel United Church of Jesus Christ
Apostolic from May Pen, Clarendon who narrowly edge Pentecostal Gospel
Temple (PGT) from 111 Windward Road, Kingston in a Five (5) rounds,
nail biting contest. It ended 24 - 23, as close as you could ever have
it!
The host Olecia Wedderburn-Christie of Love 101 Fm wasted no time in
getting the game started. With both teams clad in yellow, it was the
supporters and judges who knew the teams differently. The first round
which was dubbed “Church Focus” saw both teams given the opportunity to
dramatically display their church to the audience. PGT easily won the
hearts of the judges and emerge winners.

Radical Invasion at Passionate and Pure 2008
It was a call to the manly masses, a dare for change and a chance for Godly passion!
At the recently held Passion and Purity Conference, the
Male Chapter, dubbed “Passionate and Pure”, a less than expected
quantity of men answered the call; but what they lacked for in number
at The Jamaica College auditorium on 189 Old Hope Road in St. Andrew on
October 25th, they definitely remedied in Praise.
When di Man dem Praise…is a sight!
The atmosphere of the Conference, which got off to a
9:45 am start time, was set by the males, [and company], of The UTech
University and Colleges Christian Fellowship (U.C.C.F.) Praise Team,
fresh off the warpath from Perpetual Praise the previous night, and saw
approximately 300 - 500 males from across the island “Trade their
sorrows” and declared “God is good” with a noted set of young men
proudly clad in their uniform from the Lewisville High in St.
Elizabeth.
