Grace, God's Grace! E-mail
Written by Khimani A. Williams
Sunday, 06 September 2009
How many times have you been on the edge, so close to your breaking point that you almost caved in? How many times have you held on to the last thread, but it didn’t break and send you crashing? How many times have your midnight appeared ever-present, only to be surprised by the break of dawn? How many times have you said, “This is it!” but you still stand believing?

Sometimes circumstances plant us between a rock and a hard place, and we are left to ask, “How did I get here?” Life doesn’t always play out the way we plan it. It is full of surprises, some fantastic, some shocking. Passion and pleasure is usually what we look forward to, but pain we never desire to be acquainted, or worse yet, intimate with. But through pain or pleasure God is still God.

In a world hostile towards its Maker, Believers have often been challenged to live out their faith: That God is deserving of worship in all situation. The Heroes of Faith, like Christians today, were forced to choose between God’s love and the world’s. Hebrews 11:35 – 37...

God Wants Me Happy! E-mail
Written by Khimani A. Williams

Are you a happy person? Yes? No? Whatever you answer is, can you define happiness? Happiness, as defined by the Oxford Concise English Dictionary is “Feeling or showing pleasure or contentment.” So how are you feeling? Are you satisfied with your life and the way you live? Are you convinced that God wants you happy?

In an unpredictable world things happen that we are quite unprepared for or unaware of. Sometimes we make decisions that at the time seem so perfect, but as time goes by we want a way out of it. A man pursues a woman with all his heart and a while after he marries her he becomes needy for another, because his once beautiful wife is no longer a beauty, and beauty is what he desires. He is convinced that the best way is out, making as his banner the all too familiar excuse, “God wants me happy!”

But how does God wants us to be? As His creation God wants us to reflect Him, doing the things He commands us to do. If we trust the way we feel it is likely that we will end up doing things contrary to His will. To the man who wants a prettier wife God’s Word is, “Husbands, love your wives, even a...

Pour It Out Review E-mail
Written by Dhane Brown
Thursday, 30 July 2009
If you were among the small but vibrant group present at the Miracle Open Bible Church in Portmore on the 3rd of July you know exactly what I am talking about when I say that praise is indeed alive and well in the hearts of our nation’s youth. No matter the minister who took the stage at “Pour It Out” the blessings of the Lord surely fell as His Spirit was truly poured out upon His people.

Put on by 3E Promotions in conjunction with the Miracle Open Bible Church, the concert was part in aid of the members of the church youth group to attend a camp in August. Several ministers from across the gospel fraternity were present at the event, ready to share with eager young hearts and bring the gospel forward.

among them were Chronicle, Omari, and Ordinary, and as each of them ministered, and as the congregation worshipped you could just sense...

Lessons From History! E-mail
Written by Khimani A. Williams

When faced with difficult circumstances many of us tend to ask God why is it we are in a predicament. Some might view it as a ‘bad situation’ – though it might be – but fail to see or ask what is the reason for it, seeking God’s hand and guide. Rather they complain and say that it is not fair. “Why am I treated this way?!” they ask. But what about the good things God has done in the past? What about His many blessings and on time deliverance? And what about His daily mercies, giving each man unwarranted breath?

Jeremiah the ‘Weeping Prophet’ certainly knew what is was to be caught in dire circumstances, and he poured it out for all to see: “He shot His arrows deep into my heart. My own people laugh at me. All day long they sing their mocking songs. He has filled me with bitterness and given me a bitter cup of sorrow to drink. He has made me chew on gravel. He has rolled me in the dust. Peace has been stripped away, and I have forgotten what prosperity is. I cry out, ‘My splendor is gone! Everything I had hoped for from the Lord is lost!’ The thought of my suffering and homelessness is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss.” [Lamentations 3:13 – 20].

In verse 20 he wept ‘I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss.' Jeremiah wasn’t pretending. He wasn’t about to deny that he is suffering. Have you ever been ‘rolled in the dust’ like Jeremiah? Do you react or respond to trials?
