Jermaine Edwards Album Launch Review
The crowd reluctantly dispersed. He quickly closes the
show and slips away; now family, friends and staff seemingly transform
into worker ants getting things rolling, preparing to leave. He chats
and thanks, hugs and hails, signs autographs and takes some quick photo
ops; He's now the man of the hour.
Clad in full black he’s the exact opposite- all smiles! Jitters and anxiety once faced are now over. "I'm
so anxious it’s not even funny you would think this is my first time
but no matter how much time you have done it it’s still the same
feeling". He’s calm, God got the glory and the night was a success.
The man, known simply as Jermaine Edwards is now walking in his destiny!

Now, a lot of things are coming out,
About how a lot of Christians are selling out,
And there’ll hardly be room for any doubt,
If you hear the things coming from the mouth. [St. Matthew 24]
Everybody is talking about what they heard on the shout,
Some of the things I just can’t figure out,
And if I repeat them you and I might have a bout,
For those things God will put us in a drought: [Jeremiah 11: 17]
Like if you have the Babylonian Garment in your camp, [Joshua 7: 19 - 23]
And if you refuse to put oil in your lamp, [St. Matthew 25:1 - 13]
And if you keep fire in your lap, [Proverbs 6: 27]
You are living as those who were never sealed,
you were never stamped! [Galatians 5: 19 - 21]
Repent of your sins now while you can,
There’s not a lot of time on your hand. [St. Matthew 25: 13]
If you are not bought by Christ you are sold, [St. Luke 11: 23]
You gained the world, lost your soul,
Tossed into the fire, left out in the cold. [Revelation 20: 15]
Touch not the unclean thing,
Run to Jesus, flee from sin.
He is faithful, just and forgiving...

As Children of God what do we have to lose when “to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” [Philippians 1: 21]. We have been blessed in receiving the best in life and in death, because we have been promised an overflowing life and resurrection from the dead through the power of Jesus Christ! [St. John 10: 10, I Corinthians 15: 35-58]. So we have every reason to live our lives purposefully, knowing that when we die we shall inherit heavenly treasures on which our hearts are set.
Like a loyal soldier we should hold high the banner of Jesus Christ, even when we are threatened with death, even as Stephen did in the Book of Acts. When caught and tried for the preaching of the Gospel, when it was time to speak and defend himself, he did not shirk their accusations, but he spoke even more bravely and openly concerning the things of the Spirit. He spoke unashamedly concerning the mystery of the Gospel, detailing its history before those who gnashed their teeth at him. He spoke of the Patriarchs, the Israelites and the promises of God and the fulfilment of those promises - the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Finally, after he had declared, “I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing on the right hand of God”, they pounced on him, dragged him outside the City, then they stoned him to death. [Acts 7].
The high price Stephen paid for his standing up for God was death. He preferred to die instead of dishonouring and denying the name of Jesus Christ. (If he had done any other thing what would he have gained?) He must have heard of the wonderful words of the Savour: If anyone would come after Me, he must...

There
is a game which everyone plays, whether they decide to or not.
Sometimes you might be the unconcerned spectator or the hopeless
benched player who is unexpectedly rushed into the game. You didn’t
ask for it, but you are next up to bat. And what is worse is that it is
an unfair game where cheaters seem to score easy points, but even
cheaters in the end are cheated, because they never win. Who can tell
when you have reached your third strike? Insecurity is the name of this
game - quite a serious game - the Game of Life!
Life is filled
with disappointments, even for the most diligent and resilient among
us. No matter on what base you are in the Game of Life you are likely
to be taken by surprise. Injury has put a premature end to promising
careers of many hopeful athletes. The current and previous world
financial crisis has made poor in hours wealthy men who have worked
hard all their lives to accumulate riches. A tornado razes a sleeping
community in the still of the night. A woman labours for a day in
childbirth and passes out, only to awake to horrible news that her baby
has died. Life caters not for plans, it only promises pain and
suffering.
But
all these things - disasters and sins – which plague humanity pales in
comparison to Death, which is the destiny for all those who were unable
to play by the rules. Sufferings we face in this life is like a powder
house when compared to the torments which Hell holds for the lost soul.
Jesus has warned: “And if thine eye
offend thee, pluck...

As
a Christian I know firsthand that is pays to follow Jesus Christ; some
of it is pleasurable, the rest sometimes makes me miserable. There is
joy that God gives to His children, and an ever-present peace of mind,
but sometimes, because of my faith, I am placed among others in a place
where the field is not level. ‘Weird’, ‘different’, ‘fool’ are just
some of the unkind words thrown my way when I don’t conform to a
certain mindset, especially as it relates to sex and sexuality. But
this is just a part of the cost of my following Christ, and personally,
it is fun when I overcome.
As Children of God we are
called to be the ‘Light’ and ‘Salt’ in the world. We are appointed as
God’s Ambassadors, to be His hands, feet and mouth, representing Him
with our lifestyles. We are called to be separate and different,
impacting the world, not just positively, but in truth, godliness and
righteousness. To do this it means that we have to sometimes make
family, friends and strangers uncomfortable, and they are not always
going to be welcoming or at least accommodating.
Some
of us are called to go to far-reaching places to present the Gospel of
Jesus Christ to physically and socially hostile people. As was done to
Paul, God gives the ability and strength t...
