Have you ever been thirsty? I mean truly thirsty to the point of dehydration...where it hurts to even swallow your own saliva? I know...Eww...I know :)...but do you remember that thirst? I know there'll be some days when I've gone the whole day and have forgotten to have a glass of water (even though I should be having my 8 glasses...or half my weight in water like some people say...)

What About Me?! |

This article is written to those who do not know
Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Saviour. Whether you are
atheist or agnostic or just a churchgoer who keeps trying to convince
yourself that you are saved, this is to you. And I want to ask you what
I believe Jesus is asking everyone: ?What about me?!? We live our lives
in sin, all of us. Not one of us as humans was born perfect, because we
are children of sinful Adam. Sin is what keeps us from God. We seek to
please ourselves and not Him. It has always been all about us ? our
riches or poverty, our friends and family, our ignorance or knowledge ?
we care not for God, but what are we going to do about the most
pressing issue? What about things eternal? What about the sacrifice?
What about God?!
We broke God?s law which He gave to protect us! The law showed us
who we are: sinners! Because of our lifestyle of disobedience and
rebellion we became God?s objects of wrath. [Ephesians 2:3].

?After this, Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth. He said: ?May the day of my birth perish, and the night it was said, ?A boy is born!? That day?may it turn to darkness; may God above not care about it; may no light shine upon it. May darkness and deep shadow claim it once more; may a cloud settle over it; may blackness overwhelm its light. That night?may thick darkness seize it; may it not be included among the days of the year nor be entered in any of the months. May that night be barren; may no shout of joy be heard in it.?? [Job 3: 1 ? 7].

There is a parable contained in the book of Matthew
that is familiar to most. It is the parable of the talents, where three
men were given talents (money) to invest. [St. Matthew 25: 14 ? 30].
They received five, two and one talents from their Master, who then
went away and told them to put their monies to work. The two who
received five and two talents invested it and made a 100% return. The
man with the one talent failed to invest it, but hid it. When the
Master returned the two who made interest were pleasing to Him, but the
other was a disgrace He punished him and took away his talent and gave
it to the one who had ten. His Master had expectations of him, but he
failed Him miserably.
The book of Ecclesiastes summarizes
the responsibility of man. The author, King Solomon, sought out all the
pleasures life has to offer, and I would like to think he did find it.
He had multiple wives and concubines, riches that cannot be likened to,
men- and women servants, vineyards, musicians, wisdom and sound
counsel, popularity and the list goes on. After he had received the
?it?, in his great wisdom he declared that everything was vanity, and
concluded that man?s duty was to fear God and keep His commandments.
His exact words are, ?Now all has been heard; here is the
conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this
is the whole duty of man. For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing, whether it is good or evil.?
[Ecclesiastes 12: 12 ? 14].

Where Are You, God?! |

The things God do at times are usually unusual and
foolish to men, especially to wise, thinking people. And in a world of
pain and suffering many lose faith in God and some even reach the point
where they don?t even believe that He exist! After all, if He did He
wouldn?t allow the evil in the world to be a reality. They ask, ?Isn?t
He a God of love?? When they lose someone or something dare to them
they seek to know, ?Where are You, God?! Why are You not here??
St. John 11: 1 ? 44 tells the story of Mary and Martha, how
they lost their brother, Lazarus and it made it clear that Jesus could
have healed him, but delayed. This is what the natural mind cannot
understand: Why would God delay in my time of need, desperation?! And I
think it?s a fair question to ask. Where is God when the situation is
out of our control? In verse 3 Jesus was told, ?Lord, the one You love is sick?, yet in verse 6 Jesus remained where He was for two whole days. How irrational!
