“It’s not WHERE you WORSHIP, it’s WHO you WORSHIP”. John 4:23-24
It was a beautiful sight to have persons of all ages, profession and
denomination who had been waiting in anticipation, stream into Church
on The Rock at 7 Clifton drive, on August 25th and 26th for “True
worshippers”, which is held every last Monday and Tuesday of each month
at varying suitable venues. The gathering has had the likes of Donnie
McClurkin and William Murphy amongst others sharing with Host Jody
McCalla and the True Worshippers Choir. Booked to appear for this
month’s gathering were twin sisters, Mary Alessi and Martha Munizzi who
in an interview commented on their experience in Jamaica as being in
the “top five” of their travel ministries.
TRUE WORSHIPPERS
“It’s not WHERE you WORSHIP, it’s WHO you WORSHIP”. John 4:23-24 It was a beautiful sight to have persons of all ages, profession and denomination who had been waiting in anticipation, stream into Church on The Rock at 7 Clifton drive, on August 25th and 26th for “True worshippers”, which is held every last Monday and Tuesday of each month at varying suitable venues. The gathering has had the likes of Donnie McClurkin and William Murphy amongst others sharing with Host Jody McCalla and the True Worshippers Choir. Booked to appear for this month’s gathering were twin sisters, Mary Alessi and Martha Munizzi who in an interview commented on their experience in Jamaica as being in the “top five” of their travel ministries. The sisters have separate music ministries; however, they came and ministered together for this month’s worship session. With a vast collection of songs between them, the ladies wasted little time in leading the audience (who were already basking in the presence of God from Jody McCalla’s music ministry and the night’s message from her husband, Al McCalla) in worship, with songs such as "The King", "I Give Myself Away", "Here I Am To Worship" and "Healer". The Monday evening was broadcasted live on love 101's “Inner Glow” with host Olecia Wedderburn-Christie. The night ended on a high note with everyone singing and just celebrating Christ. The Tuesday night was a little different, mainly because of the threat of tropical storm Gustav, who later in the week paid the island a visit and left some persons in much distress. Despite this, and no Mary Alessi or Martha Munizzi, persons came out for the second night of true Worshippers, with a heart of thanksgiving and hunger for the word of God. Jody McCalla and the true worshipper’s choir clad in red and black attire started the session with praise songs such as "Sing Praises", "I Feel Like Running" and "When Trouble's In Your Life". And with the blessings of the night before still very evident in the atmosphere, the audience just waded in the presence of God as they sang prayerfully, "I Give Myself Away". The hearts of the people were more than ready when Mr. Al McCalla came with the second serving of God’s word. For the “religious” this message would trigger many uneasy feelings. However, as he stated the night before, “There is no religion in true worshippers”. He spoke on the Two Kingdoms: Spiritual and Natural, the story of Abraham and Sarah, and God’s plan for man to be perfect. This event should be marked on the calendars of all those who call themselves 'true worshippers'. In the words of minister McCalla, “Worship is not the song, it’s the lifestyle”. And this experience is one every Christian should be a part of!
