“Young and fresh with a contemporary sound
that spans musical genres”… this is the introductory description that is found
on Teena Tamara’s myspace. Not new to the gospel music scene, Tamara James, has
a rather extensive list of awards which document her immense talent over the
years.
A common and familiar face to many due to
her quite decorated and popular associations: Teena is no youngster to the
music scene. She has played background-vocals to the likes of Carlene Davis,
Judy Mowatt and Junior Tucker; sharing stages with big hitters in both the
Gospel and Secular Arena.
This tenacious vibrant talent in recent times
is a regular with the Nadine Blair led Perpetual Praise, Songstress on JAI’s
debut album and choice vocal among Jamaica’s gospel musicians, ministers and
artiste.
Tried and charged, Teena, the ideal team
player as described by her previous endeavours has now launched out on her own.
First from this unquestionable and undeniable
talent, is an interesting and upbeat track entitled “I’m Good” and already she is
receiving great reviews.
Please let us know your impression debut
solo project.
