I was abit reluctant to post this on the forum, but I then thought that we are not called to be selfish, and really I felt within me that someone might need this, so I have to share.
I woke up this morning, and while listening to some cd's this came to me. We all need each other to survive (that was actually one of the songs that I listened to) and all of us have been through diverse situations, more specifically, we have temptations, things that we have had to literally fight our way through.
For me, I have struggled with pornography both before and after being saved, and im not afraid to share that, cause I belived that there's power in the blood of Jesus that can and has transformed my life. The internet has been, and is still to some extent a gateway that I battle with when I Iog on, thats why I appreciate Praiseriot and other website that motive in the things of Christ.

Let me not hog this with my experiences, as I would love for persons to come and share how they have been transformed by the blood of Jesus. Not, oh I have been through alot and the lord has changed me. Something that when my friend who cant stop theif, can see how God can change a thief, or my friend who is a liar, can know that God has and can change a liar. In other words be real and open.
So if you are not afraid of encourage someone (and it might just be one person) through your struggle/s and ultimately the overcoming of such struggle/s, please share. We need each other to survive, Right.

ok i hear you. listen the apostle paul said that there was a thorn in his fles and every time he tries to do good evil presents itself. we are always going to struggle with the pressures of life. there was a point where when ever i walk in halfway tree and those dvd's they have selling on the road i could not pass and not look. mind you they are selling some good movies but watch the catch they mix them with pronographic dvd's. now i can pass without look at them. you have to get mad from within and just say to youself that you are tired of being attached to this thing. i believe that you are really bold and because you have openly confess the Lord God has seen and forgiven you. because he said that any man who said he ha sno sin is a liar and the truth is not in him.
son if God brings you to it he can bring you through it just do not put yourself in harms way. if it means that you stay far from the internet and do godly stuff do that, but remember you must come online to praiseriot. God is able he said the his grace is sufficient to keep you. Jude 1:24&25 says and now unto him who able to keep you from falling and to present you faultless before his fathers throne with exceeding great joy to the only wise God to him be all power, glory dominion both now and forever Amen. Yow Thanks for the encouragement breddas! I realise that overcoming struggles require alot of determination and focus in order to make it through.
I was walking to work yesterday and thinking bout some stuff and it just came to me "if you study, you will pass the test". This lord was just telling me to stuck ma head more in his word, and get to understand him more, and be able to use the word against the enemy as how he did.

I appreciate that two persons have shared already, especially seeing as how they are men. I would, and im sure others would love to be encouraged by your experience, so dont be afraid to share.

I never really had a pornography issue (at least not an addiction). There are times when my flesh literally cries out for it. Man, it gets tough at times. But what I struggled with is masturbation. Up till the age of 19 I only knew this by definition. But one year I went to camp and heard some guy talking about it and I was like, "Whe unnu a talk bout? Dat a nastiness!" That kinda a mentality deh mi did 'av! But then I became curious, and that killed the cat.

One time led to another and another and another. I prayed so much for deliverance. I talked to close friends about it. They encouraged me greatly. But I had to confront myself. And over and over I did. I was sick of it. Tired of it. Just plain fed up! But once in church a couple months back I had a lot of questions for God. "Why am I struggling with this? Why does my sister-in-law's pregnancy is so devastating? Why the unnecessary suffering? Why? Why?" But they were singing that "You are Alpha and Omega" song by Israel Houghton and I had those questions floating around in my head... suddenly I heard God answered, "It's ok!" Then the tears came flowing and I started rejoicing!!! Now all that feeling is gone. God delivered me. I am now a free man from masturbation!!! It's good to breathe again!

Yesterday (17/5/08) i had to take di bus home, but while on di ride the driver was playing some retro dancehall music dat i had enjoyed while i was a schoolers(1994-2002). U know some good old bounty killa, baby cham, beenie man, spragga benz... etc. Riddims like "Di Bug", "Joyride", "Di Clone", "Bellyas", "Showtime", "Bruk out" and some others.
However, on di bus i was tempted to sing and fulfilled by flesh desire, when the video that icuucme posted in the forum (Burning Issues/music type) confronted me. I stopped and listened to the lyrics of most of the song i was about to sing, and just as what the video displayed I just could not repeat it.

Bwoy, God is really a great God you know. I really appreciate you guys coming here and sharing your testimony. Many pewrson would shy away from doing it, cause they wouldnt want there life out there, but trust me, God has done something great in our lives and we just have to share it.

But anyhow...watchin porn with sum neighbours opened the door to lesbianism/bisexualism and bwoy iz like a can of worms was opened so I was struggling with this for an undetermined period. However, I never was 'caught' and only God delivered me from that when I recommitted my life around 11....

I never got to go to the Wired conference, though I really wanted to go, I never got the opportunity to, I pray though that many lives were blessed and changed.

I've taken out a few lines I deem important
As Christians, we overcome trials and tribulations by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony (Rev. 12:11).

A testimony is something given as a witness for something else. If a person in court testifies, they tell exactly what they saw, heard, etc, in regard to the case. Christians should also have a testimony. Our testimony should tell others about what God has done in our lives. Unfortunately, that last sentence sounds so cliché and wobbly that I feel the need to explain it.

When I say that our testimony should be about what God has done in our lives, I’m not talking about telling people how God has blessed you with a new car or a wife or anything like that. I’m not talking about telling others how He’s made your life better, given you more joy, or provided you with a happiness that you couldn’t find in worldly things. When I talk about a testimony, what I’m talking about is telling others about the amazing grace and longsuffering of God for not killing you before you got saved, even though He had every right to. I’m talking about telling others about how you deserved to go straight to hell, but because of God’s desire to see all men come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9), you were saved by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8). Your testimony should reflect the grace and mercy of God, but it should also reflect the holiness, righteousness, and justice of God as well!
