You do not have to be a scholar to realize that we are living in the End of Days. Almost every prophecy in the New Testament is being manifested. Jesus talked about the wars amongst nations and tribes, the great earthquakes in various places, family feuds, the lost of love between people, the persecution of the saints, and the list goes on. But I would like to go back to the Old Testament, which holds one very powerful prophecy that remains relevant since it was given to the end of time and beyond.

In the book of Daniel chapter 2, King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream. He saw ?An enormous, dazzling statue, awesome in appearance.?? The head of the statue was made of gold, the arms and breast were made of silver, the belly and thighs were made of bronze, its legs were made of iron, and its feet were made of both iron and clay. This statue was broken by a rock that was not cut out by human hands, and it was no longer found anywhere, for it was destroyed completely. Those in Babylon who practiced witchcraft and were astrologers couldn?t interpret the dream, but God gave the meaning to Daniel, His servant.

This is the interpretation of the dream according to Daniel: ?You, O king, are the king of kings. The God of heaven has given you dominion and power and might and glory; in your hands he has placed mankind and the beasts of the field and the birds of the air. Wherever they live, he has made you ruler over them all. You are that head of gold. After you, another kingdom will rise,
inferior to yours. Next, a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule over the whole earth. Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron?for iron breaks and smashes everything?and as iron breaks things to pieces, so it will crush and break all the others. Just as you saw that the feet and toes were partly of baked clay and partly of iron, so this will be a divided kingdom; yet it will have some of the strength of iron in it, even as you saw iron mixed with clay. As the toes were partly iron and partly clay, so this kingdom will be partly strong and partly brittle. And just as you saw the iron mixed with baked clay, so the people will be a mixture and will not remain united, any more than iron mixes with clay. In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.? [Daniel 2: 37 ? 44].

I believe that history is the greatest teacher. There is a saying by George Santayana that goes like this: ?Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it." I am not willing to repeat errors made in the past because of my ignorance. Why relive the pain?! Now concerning the statue, Daniel made it very clear that Nebuchadnezzar?s empire was the head of gold, Babylon, which today is thought to be Iraq. Next was the arms and chest of silver, which was Persia (today thought to be Iran). After the fall of Persia, the empire of Greece, the belly and thighs made of bronze, emerged; and after Greece Rome came into power, being the feared legs of iron.

The statue that Daniel saw represented all the kingdoms of men that ruled the world since Nebuchadnezzar. The feet, made of iron and clay, will rule in the End of Days, but the Kingdom of Heaven will completely destroy it and grow and prosper for all eternity. We are now living in the time of the empire made of clay and iron, and many would say that this kingdom is found in Europe. Our job as Christians is to be aware and evangelist to the lost.

When Christ?s Kingdom is set up the suffering caused by man will cease and God?s children will no longer have to submit to any fleshly government!

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." He who was seated on the throne said, "I am making everything new!" Then he said, "Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true."

I hope that I can make things clearer to you, Erbag.
It is entitle "The
Fall of Man" because that's what I meant, the fall of man or the end of
man's rule on this earth (i.e., without God's earthly Kingdom established).
The
statue that Nebuchadnecezzar saw represented 4 kingdoms that would rule the
world, from the Head to the Toes. These are governments setup based on the
system of the world. History tells the story of hate, anger and rage of past
kings and rulers, from Nebuchadnezzar himself to Hitler or even Castro (though
He's not just returning because of our hostility). God Himself will break all of
that when He comes, and man will fall as it were.

Let me know if this was of
any help
Confused...

I read the title "The Fall of Man" and some how the content doesn't
quite seem to connect with the title. I essence the the two doesn't tie
together. Valid point were made but I got lost on the journey.

With regards to
the end times. One scholars said "The end times began after Jesus ascended
to the heavens" - Glenn Thompson (paraphrased)
