Image Have you ever had an experience or series of experiences that shook the very core of what you believed to be a stable and unbending foundation? I've recently had a series of experiences that really caused me to sit down and analyze, evaluate, weigh and ponder some serious stuff.

I've been going through ups and downs emotionally, battling against issues that I thought were long passed. I was finding out that there were still remnants of past hurt and pain that the enemy of my soul had long been hiding in his arsenal to fight against me. I tell you the truth, I was literally shaken off my pedestal. I questioned everything I had begun to believe was true. Spending countless nights with tear-stained pillows, and for what? I knew that the joy of the Lord was to be my strength (Nehemiah 8:10), but I felt weak. I knew that His strength would be made perfect in my weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9) but I still felt burdened and powerless. I knew that though weeping may endure for a night, joy would come in the morning (Psalm 30:5) but I woke up and the tears still flowed.

Through all this though, for the first time, I had a resolve that I would NOT blame God for what I was going through. I vowed that I would NOT turn my back on Him and that I would seek His face even throughout this pain. And do you know what my Lord did? He gave me a word to hold on to. Hosea 6:1-2 says, "Come and let us return to the Lord; for He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up. After two days He will revive us; on the third day He will raise us up, that we may live in His sight." I had to hold on to this word. I had to believe God. He has been so faithful. Even through my unfaithfulness and my wavering and unsteadiness, God has remained unwavering, faithful and true. In spite of everything else, I know that in Him I have a true friend. I know that in Him, I am whole. I know that in Him, I am healed and renewed.

I'll be the first to admit, I have issues. But I know that God is not through with me yet. I know that He is fashioning and shaping me into that which He designed me to be.

I just want to encourage you, no matter the circumstance, no matter how hard the situation, don't give up on your faith in the Lord. I promise you, your situation may not disappear overnight and you may definitely be facing the hardest, most difficult season of your life, but you are not in it alone. Jesus is right there with you, waiting for you to stop trying to fix stuff in your own strength, and instead giving your cares and worries and hurt and pain and frustration to Him. He knows how to fix it.

Be encouraged and God bless.

Love, Yori
